Grace M. Maffia, 92, of Poughkeepsie, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at N.Y.S. Veterans Home in Montrose, N.Y. She was born in the Bronx, October 15, 1921, the daughter of Jean Biritella. On June 23, 1946, she married Albert G. Maffia, who died January 2, 2014 after 67 years of marriage. Formerly of Eastchester, Mrs. Maffia was formerly employed at Sulka Bros. Haberdashery in N.Y.C., P & S Patterns in the Bronx, and Westchester County Court House. She is survived by a son, Anthony J. Maffia and his wife Mary of Wappingers Falls, a daughter, Diane Uhlmann, of Huntingtown, MD., grandchildren,Anne Fleming, Anthony Maffia, Jr., Michael Maffia, Timothy Uhlmann, Brian Maffia, Robert Uhlmann, and William Uhlmann, 13 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Jackson St. Fishkill. Burial Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Queens, at the convenience of the family.
