Milana “Millie” Milenkovich

Milana “Millie” Milenkovich went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Millie was a longtime resident of the village of Wappingers. Born to Serbian parents (Zivko and Julka Milosavlavic), Millie was born in Madison, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1921. At the age of six, Millie and her family went back to Serbia. In 1958, Millie and her daughter, Olga Janicijevic came to the United States for a better life. While waiting for her husband (Mirko Milenkovich) to come to New York from Serbia, he passed away. Millie was a professional seamstress. She worked at a dress factory for ten years. She was a hard worker; she later held two seamstress jobs- one at the dress factory and at Robert Hall. Her last place of employment was Up-To-Date in Poughkeepsie (18 years). Millie enjoyed making clothes for her daughter, granddaughter, and great grandchildren. She was an avid Knitter and loved to do crafts ! Millie is survived by her daughter, Olga Janicijevic, former son-in-law, Milan Janicijevic, a granddaughter, Melanie Hoffman and her husband Donald Hoffman. She is survived by her two great-grandchildren, Julia and Jenna Hoffman. She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Milosavlavic and her sister, Lente Sibinovic.Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Wappingers Rural Cemetery. Rev. Alex Vinogradov will officiate.
