Raffaele J. Senese, 75, of the town of Poughkeepsie, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at Rosary Hill Home, Hawthorne, N.Y. He was born in Rome, Italy April 15, 1940, the son of Salvatore and Italia DiDonato Senese. In 1967, in St. Marys Church, Wappingers Falls, he married Kathleen M. Terralavoro, who survives at home. Ralph resided here since 1959 and was employed at IBM in Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1996. He also worked in various machine shops in Dutchess county. He was a member of Wappingers Council #1646, Knights of Columbus. In addition to his beloved wife Kathleen, he is survived by his children, Kathleen Lisa Senese, at home, Raffaele Senese, Jr. and Lauren, of N.Y.C., and Italia Lee, of Long Beach, CA., Grandchildren, Logan and Ryan Senese of N.Y.C., and Jessiah Lee of Long Beach, CA., Cousins, Guiseppe Senese of Rochester, N.Y., Palladini Family of the Bronx, in-laws, Wilma and Joseph Collins of Boca Raton, Fla., Vincent and Joanne Servedio of Highland Falls, N.Y., and Maria and Charles Piranio of the Bronx. Frank Taylor, 87, of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 26, 2015. He was born in the Bronx on November 17, 1928, the son of Frank and Ann Spears Taylor. On July 26, 1953, he was married to his wife Christina Veronica Taylor at Our Lady of Solace Church in the Bronx. They taught us the true meanings of love and marriage, being married 61 years. Mr. Taylor was a retired New York City firefighter. He is predeceased by his wife Christina Taylor, and is survived by their daughter, Mariann Jackson and her husband Gerald and their children, Kathryn Ilardi and her husband Sal Ilardi, Kelly Jackson, and Gerald Jackson III and his wife Lauren Jackson, and Frank’s son, Joseph Taylor and his daughters, Lauren, Stephanie and Jessica of Carmel, N.Y. Grace V. Haslam, 90, of the town of Poughkeepsie, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. She was born in Pleasant Valley on May 26, 1925, the daughter of John Ferguson and Catherine Bradley Ferguson. On September 9, 1945 in Holy Trinity Church, she married Donald J. Haslam, who survives. Mrs. Haslam was employed at IBM in Poughkeepsie, and was a member of the Boots & Bows Square Dancing Club. She also belonged to the Red Hats Society, and the Tri-Town Senior Citizens. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Donna Mucci and her husband Mike, of Wappingers Falls, John T. Haslam of Beacon, and Donald M. Haslam of New Hamburg, grandchildren, Melissa LaBare and her husband Mike of Wappingers Falls, and Drew Mucci and his wife Sarah of Reston, VA, greatgrandchildren, Isabele LaBare, Sophie LaBare, Rocco Mucci, Luca Mucci, and Ellie Mucci, and several nieces and nephews. Charles Silvestri, 57, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Friday December 4, 2015 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. He was born in Poughkeepsie June 8, 1958, the son of William Silvestri and Doreen Gobbi.Charlie was employed as a groundskeeper at Dutchess Golf and Country Club, Poughkeepsie. He enjoyed the outdoors, bird feeding, and working and spending time with his twin brother Willy. Charlie was an avid Mets and Redskins fan. Surviving are his mother, Doreen DeCarlo of Wappingers Falls, his twin brother, William Silvestri of Wappingers Falls, sisters, Sally Canavan of Poughkeepsie, Sandra Frye and her husband Doug of Florida, Susan Silvestri, Christine DeCarlo, both of Wappingers Falls, and Joanne Boyle of Beacon, and several nieces and nephews. Domenico Napoleon

Domenico O. Napoleon was born in Wappingers Falls, New York on August 29, 1916 to Oliver and Anna Trabucco Napoleon. He passed away on December 16, 2015 at Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy, Maryland. He married Charlotte Townsend at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls in January 1944. Charlotte preceded him, after 53 years of marriage, on November 24, 1996. A lifelong resident of Wappinger, he was educated in local schools, then attended UCLA and the Army’s Officer Candidate School. He moved to Walkersville, Maryland in 2001. Dom served overseas in World War II as an AAA Artillery Lieutenant and Infantry Unit Commander. He was a former member of the American Legion, the American Infantry Association, and a charter member of the National World War II Veterans Memorial. After the war, he spent 36 years at the Texaco Research Center in Beacon, New York. He retired in 1980 as Foreman of the Combustion Section. Dom was active in politics in the 1960s, serving three terms as a Trustee in Wappingers Falls. His resolution opposing the closing of Castle Point Veterans Hospital was adopted by local board and placed in the Congressional Record by Congressman Joseph Resnick in 1964. He chaired the committee that purchased the Wappinger Lake. He believed that the ‘60s saw the greatest renaissance in the history of the village, and was proud of his role. Dom will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his daughter Susan Napoleon Richter and husband Randy of Walkersville, Maryland; his son-in-law Joseph Murphy of Woodbine, Maryland; seven grandchildren: Chris Richter (Leslie), Jennifer Doyle (Brian), Dan Murphy, Sean Murphy, Katie Phelps, Brian Greco, and Nancy Perry; twelve great-grandchildren: Charlotte Richter, Caroline Doyle, Margaret Doyle, Devan Murphy, Tyler Murphy, Daylon Murphy, Lyndsey Phelps, Rachel Phelps, Stephen Phelps, Audrey Greco, Avery Greco, and Jackson Perry; his four-legged friends Mia, Henry, Shabadoo, and Gabby; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; and many, many old and new friends. He was predeceased by sisters Margaret Napoleon and Gaetana Napoleon, brother Armand Napoleon, and daughter Gail Napoleon Murphy. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church on Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls, New York. The family will greet friends prior to the Mass. Dom will be buried with his wife at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, with arrangements coordinated by the Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 E. (Slavic) O’Rourke, 91, recently of Burlington, MA and former lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. She was the loving wife of the late John J. O’Rourke and beloved mother of Tom, Trish, and Maureen. She was born on August 16, 1924 in Poughkeepsie, NY and was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Rituper) Slavic. Mary was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, NY and was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. She spent her career working as a representative for New York telephone companies. A longtime member of St. Mary’s Church in Wappinger’s Falls, NY, and the Mother’s Guild at St. Mary’s School, Mary moved to Burlington, MA in 2014 to be close to her family. Mary is survived by her children; Thomas O’Rourke and his wife Patty of Austin, TX, Patricia Pena of Chelmsford, and Maureen O’Rourke and her husband James Molloy of Brookline, MA, and grandchildren; Jason and Justin Schmidt and their families. She also leaves her nieces and nephews; Anne Strahota, Eleanor Bobbitt, and Jeanne DeGrandis and their families. She was the sister of the late Frank A. He was born in Poughkeepsie on November 11, 1976, the son of Anthony Barbato, Sr. and the late Rosemary Sidote Barbato. A former resident of Wappingers Falls, Mr. Barbato was employed at N.Y.S.D.O.T. as a mechanic-supervisor. He was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School, and was a talented mechanic, a man of honor, and was loved by all. Anthony Galioto, 91, of Hyde Park, passed away tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. He was born September 21, 1924 in the Bronx to Giacinto and Vincenza Mele Galioto. On February 16, 1946, he married Lena Derasmo, who predeceased him on July 26, 1985. Mr. Galioto was a warehouse Manager for France Voiles in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Galioto served in the Marines from ’43 to ’46. Tony (Pop) enjoyed bowling, cooking, family dinners, and smoking cigars. Known to all as Pop, he had a positive influence on all of those he met. He is survived by his children, Anthony and his wife Adele, Richard and his wife Nancy, Dean and his wife Theresa, Gina Finnigan and her husband Kevin, and Margaret Gillardi and her husband Donny. Grandchildren, Antonia, Anthony II, and Erica Galioto, Andrea Drennan, Corinne, Stephanie, and Lisa Galioto, Jonathan Gillardi, Dean, Brianna and Nicholas Galioto, a brother, Joseph Giacinto(Boye), a sister, Anna DeMarco, and several nieces and nephews. Stanley Garcia

Stanley Garcia, age 85 of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away peacefully on March 3, 2016. Stanley was born Dec. 1, 1930 in the Bronx, NY to Vicente and Rose Garcia, formerly of Otisville, NY. Stan grew up in Otisville, NY and was a graduate of Otisville H.S in 1949. He graduated from SUNY Farmingdale A&T University in 1951 with a degree in air conditioning and refrigeration. He was drafted into the Army in Oct., 1951 where he served in the Korean conflict and was later injured. He was transferred to Tokyo, Japan to continue in the service as a refrigeration technician. Stan was the recipient of a Good conduct medal, a National Defense Service medal, a Korean Service medal and two bronze stars and was honorably discharged in 1956. Stan met his wife of 62 years, Hiro Hironaka while he was stationed in Japan and they were married in Tokyo in 1954. Hiro immigrated to the U.S. May 1955 and they welcomed their first Child Richard in Sept. 1955. They settled in Wappingers Falls, NY where they raised their family. Stan was an IBM employee for 35 years. He enjoyed motorcycling, bowling, fishing, target-shooting, flying remote control airplanes and traveling. Stan is survived by his wife, Hiro; son, Richard Garcia of Burlington VT; daughter-in-law, Deborah Garcia; grandsons, Davin, Dylan and Byron Garcia; granddaughters, Shina and Sierra Garcia; Sister, Arlene Otero and her husband Tony of Middletown, NY and brother Greg Garcia of NYC. He was pre-deceased by his son David Garcia, a casualty of the WTC attacks. A graveside service will take place at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave, Poughkeepsie, on Tues. Paul Manzo, 60, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home. He was born in Pelham Bay, N.Y. April 20, 1955, the son of the late Salvatore Manzo and Doris Cicchetti Manzo who survives. Mr. Manzo was employed the past 38 years at St. Christopher’ss Inn of Graymoor. Previously he owned Manzo’s Pizzeria in Wappingers Falls. A local resident 52 years, he had resided in Pelham Bay. Paul was a graduate of St. Marys School, and Roy C. Ketcham High School, Wappingers Falls. On September 2,1978, in St. Marys Church, he married the former Linda Laffin, who survives. Paul enjoyed Golf, Trivia, Mets baseball, all sports, and casino’s. He did catering work on the side, and was also a member of the Pirate Canoe Club. Surviving, in addition to his wife are his children, Lisa(Ben) Patterson of Wappingers Falls, P.J. Mary E. “Betty” McDonald died on March 7, 2016 due to declining health. She was born on June 28, 1931 to Morris V. Laffin and Mary (mae) c. Flynn Laffin. On May 5, 1956 she married Peter McDonald at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls. He predeceased her on December 16, 2003. She was a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls and attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and graduated from Wappingers Central School. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls. Betty worked for Central Hudson, Marine Midland Bank, Mid-Hudson Savings Bank and retired from Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union in 1994. She is survived by her five children and their families, Bill McDonald and his wife Mary, and their children, Karen and Brendan, Mary McDonald and her partner Joe Steiniger, Barbara McDonald, Jennifer Valenti and her daughter Sarah, Anne O’Neill and and her husband Mike and their children Erin, Patrick, Sean and Ryan. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Laffin and his wife Anne, and Gerald Laffin and his wife Roseann, her sister-in-law Melva Laffin, her aunt Betty Riley, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her brother Morris Laffin, and a dear friend Donald Kane. The family wishes to thank the staff of Elant in Wappingers Falls where she spent the last year of her life. Barbara J. Fiorito, 82, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at Wingate at Dutchess, Fishkill. She was born in Tunkhannock, PA January 15, 1934, the daughter of Edward Young and May Donaldson. On Sept. 1, 1950, she married Joseph A. Fiorito in Ossining, N.Y. He survives at home Barbara was a member of the Fishkill Church of the Nazarene. She was an LPN at Phelps Mem. Hospital, Butterfield Hospital, and a teachers aide at the Childrens Ark. Barbara was a foster mother of many children. She loved to garden, sew, and quilt, and also active in various church activities, and volunteering at Meals on Wheels. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Holly Olson (Phil), Mt. Holly, N.J., Robin Bell (David), Essex Junction, VT., Dan Fiorito (Beth), Fishkill, Carlos Fiorito, Dunmore, PA, Frannie Fiorito, Wappingers Falls, NY, Millie Stevenson, Hudson, NY, and many foster children, Sisters, Sandy Foley, Arizona, 13 Grandchildren, 6 Great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
