William H. Rhoades, 78, of Wappingers Falls, passed away thursday, May 31, 2012 at
the Pines, Poughkeepsie.Mr. Rhoades was born in Milton, N.Y. April 16, 1934, the son
of Edgar Rhoades and Adele Hull.He served in the U.S. Army, and was a former board member
of the Hudson Valley Clearwater. Mr. Rhoades was employed at IBM in Poughkeepsie over 30 years
and retired in 1990. After his retirement, he and his wife spent 15 years on the craft
circuit, buying and selling various crafts.
On July 14, 1957 in Poughkeepsie, he married Shirley M. Power Rhoades, who died January
26, 2011.Surviving are his children, Debbie Ulrich and David of Apopka, Fla., William David Rhoades
and Susan of Gansevoort, N.Y., Donna Turcotte of Highland, Michael Rhoades of New Paltz, and Kevin Rhoades and Lisa Quint of
Kingston, N.Y., Grandchildren, Chris, Alyssa, and Zack Turcotte, Hannah Ulrich, Casey
Rhoades, and Ryan Rhoades, a great grandson, Chase Turcotte, Sisters, Patricia Stahl
and Andy, of Milton, Judi LaGrange of Virginia, a brother, Edgar Rhoades and Janet of
Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rhoades was predeceased by his sons, Jeffrey and Christopher Rhoades.
Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls,
Sunday from 5 to 7 PM.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Scharlise Dorsey
will officiate. Burial St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
