John “Jack” Laffin

John “Jack” Laffin died on Tuesday February 21, 2012. Jack was born on October 29, 1936 the son of Robert and Blanche Stevens Laffin.
He attended St. Mary’s school in Wappingers Falls, and went on to graduate from Wappingers Central schools in 1955.
He also attended Dutchess Community College. Jack worked for IBM for 37 years’
On May 7, 1960 he married Joan DiGregorio at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls. They were married 51 years.
Besides his wife, Jack is survived by his much loved children, Patrick Laffin and his wife Nancy of Wappingers Falls,
Gary Laffin and his wife Anita of Dade City, Fla., and Dana (Laffin) Rebecca and her husband Craig of the town of Poughkeepsie.
He loved his grandchildren, Nick, Melissa, Joshua, Whitney, Simon, and Noah, and they loved their grandpa too. He is also survived by many nieces and
nephews.
Jack was predeceased his parents and his brother, Robert Laffin.
Jack was an active member of the Pirate Canoe Club, the American Legion Post 427, and the Beekman Golf and Country Club. He had volunteered his time
for many years as a tax preparer for AARP.
Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls.
Burial St. Marys Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Jack’s name can be made to the American Legion Post 427, 7 Spring St., Wappingers Falls, N.Y. 12590.
